Modern Solitaire engagement ring with a Vintage Old European cut diamond. Old European cut diamonds were primarily cut between 1890-1930 and were common during the Art Deco period. This type of diamond has a special charm because diamond cutters had to rely on their eyes rather than modern technology to hand-cut them, making each stone unique. The stone was set two years ago in a new, 14 karat yellow gold band. Made by Harold Stevens Jewelers in San Diego. Hand-designed by me. Recently reappraised at "$9,000.00."

    • Story This beautiful stone originally belonged to my great-grandmother, "Peekaboo." She passed it down to my grandmother to save for her grandson (me) when I found the woman I wanted to marry. That day came and we got engaged at the end of 2020. We reset the stone in a new 14k yellow gold solitaire band in the spring of 2021. My ex-fiancee wore this ring for about 6 months before breaking off the engagement. I fortunately found someone I love so much and want to spend the rest of my life with! I am planning to propose soon, but it doesn't feel quite right to give her this ring given its history with my ex. I am hoping to sell this ring in order to afford a different engagement ring for the love of my life. This ring is gorgeous and the stone is super unique given the Old European hand-cut style. I hope that whoever wears this ring will appreciate its distinct beauty and history!
