| Story | Unable to afford an engagement ring, I took all the gold and diamonds I had in my possession and went to the local jeweler. I showed him pictures of many rings I liked and asked if he could craft a ring with all of the attributes I wanted. I let him know that I had no money, but a small pile of jewelry instead. The man smiled and said he would ask his cousin, who crafts their custom rings, what he could do. When I picked up the ring the business owner let me know that this task was a passion project for his cousin. He didn't have to say any more. I knew that the value of what I was picking up outweighed the value of what I had dropped off. Alas, the engagement was never to be and the ring has only resided in a box, in my drawer, for years, until I am now ready to sell it to whomever can appreciate it for its beauty and all the love that went into its crafting. |
