'Mizpah' is found in the Bible, Genesis 31:49, and it means 'Watchtower' 

It is interpreted as a BLESSING given in LOVE and invoking GOD's help as such in Prayer... "May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other"

  MIZPAH Rings came into fashion in Great Britain and America during The Victorian Era, which can be defined as those specific years of Queen Victoria’s reign in England (1837-1901).

Historians often divide the reign of Britain’s longest reigning monarch into three parts: the Early Victorian or Romantic, the Middle Victorian or Grand, and the Late Victorian or Aesthetic periods.

The Early Victorian Romantic Period (1837-1860) reflected the love of a nation for its young queen and her love for her husband, Prince Albert.

During the Early Victorian Romantic Period, the Industrial Revolution surged ahead. 

Mass production factories meant jewelry was no longer made strictly by hand after the middle 1800's.

    A time period evaluation of this Ring's fabrication reveals it has a 2-part handcrafted seamed construction. 

Therefore this appears to be from the very Early Victorian Romantic Period– (1837-1860).

Careful observation of centuries-old jewelry making techniques inside and out the ring, where there's a handcrafted interior inlay of a separate and smooth flat gold band... forming the handcrafted construction outline of the 2-parts ring circular edging... shows this ring was not made from a one-pour wax mold as was typically done in the later 1800's.
